Registration, Tuition and Enrollment

Enrollment is limited to keep a personal atmosphere where students and teachers get to know each other well. Advance reservations are strongly encouraged because the schools in the Hermandad are full most weeks of the year.

Current Tuition

During low season (September – May), tuition fees are $200 per week. During high season (June, July, and August), tuition fees are $225 per week. This includes one on one class instruction five days a week and your homestay for seven days.

To enroll, either complete our Online Registration Form or download a registration form (PDF), print and complete it, and send it or fax it to the address listed on the form..

You will be notified of your acceptance within three weeks of receiving your application. We recommend that you begin the application well in advance for the summer months of June, July and August.

North America

1. For ALL registrations a $US 75.00 registration fee is required with your application, together with a payment of $US 75 towards the first weeks' registration (i.e. a total of $150). This payment must be made through on this website, not La Hermandad. No application will be processed without this fee.

Note: The payment of the $US 75.00 towards the first week's tuition was a decision taken by the collective in September 2000, in light of the fact that several students with reservations in preceding months had failed either to appear for their classes, or to inform the school of their cancellation. If you wish to cancel, please do so TWO (2) weeks prior to your reserved time of arrival at the school of your choice, and this additional payment of $US 75/-- will be refunded in full. Otherwise, in the event of a late cancellation or a failure to attend at the school without prior notification of cancellation, this payment is not refundable.

2. If you are accepted, the $US 75.00 will be kept as a non-refundable registration fee (that is, it will not be applied to your tuition fees in Guatemala), and a place will be reserved at the school of your choice in the Hermandad for the confirmed dates of study. The registration fee entitles students to the use of the foreign offices' services, travel information to Guatemala and confirmed reservation. It is also used to cover the expenses of the international offices (advertising, phone, postage, printing expenses, etc.)

If you cannot be accepted (because the school is already booked for the weeks you have requested), $US 65.00 of the registration fee will be returned, together with your $75 payment towards the first weeks' tuition, and the remainder kept as a processing fee.

Information on travel, visas, dress, climate, etc. will be sent upon receipt of your deposit and your acceptance. Additionally, the people on the reference list, which is included when you request an information packet, are an excellent resource for finding out details on what you should and should not bring, etc. You are welcome to contact the office in Xela for other queries.
